Hamsacharya translates as spiritual teacher. The title was given to Brian by an Indian master, Yogiraj Satgurunath Siddhanath. He authorized Hamsacharya Brian to teach Kriya Yoga, which is the same practice mentioned in the book Autobiography of a Yogi.
Pranayama is controlling life-force energy, or prana, to clear the psychic nerves of the body and experience elated states of awareness. In this event, Hamsacharya Brian will teach 3 powerful pranayams; anuloma viloma, tribandh, and nauli kriya. Anuloma viloma, also known as alternate nostril breathing, balances the two main pranic currents in the body, bringing about a feeling of balance and tranquility. Tribandh means three locks, constricting three parts of the body to regulate prana and heal the body. Nauli kriya is a powerful detoxification technique performed by gaining control of the stomach muscles by the use of breath.
