Get your pumpkins and root vegetables ready! Our Spooky Market is just one week away, so there’s time to pick out your favorite weird-looking vegetable and give it a creepy makeover.

Whether you select a pumpkin, gourd, traditional turnip, squash, beet, radish or ever-friendly potato—carve it or otherwise dress it up in spooky attire and bring it back next week to our October 28th Spooky Market! Everyone who submits an entry will get a treat and be entered to win a gift card to the Co-op! Plan to drop off your entry by 4pm on Wednesday, October 28th.

Vendor & Community Updates

• Dilish Farm is at market this week! Make sure to visit their Farm Truck near 20th for a variety of products grown or produced on their Vancouver farm, including apple cider, dried spices and teas, quince, garlic, eggplants, bok choy, potatoes, peppers, pesto, lettuce, parsley, pumpkins, and decorative fall wreaths.

• Foglia Pasta is back at market! Drop by for fresh, handmade pastas, raviolis, and sauces, made from scratch from local ingredients, with no artificial ingredients or colors.

• Cokiea’s Kitchen is here with delicious, Vegan Food for the Soul. Make sure to show up with an appetite for flavorful vegan meals made from ethically grown vegetables, and rooted in cultural tradition.

• Wasco Fisheries is here with high quality fresh, smoked, frozen, and canned salmon! A Native-owned business, Wasco Fisheries harvests salmon on the Columbia River using traditional techniques that have sustained the local ecology for thousands of years. Wasco Fisheries is committed to care for the land and water for future generations, while supporting equitable access to healthy, locally harvested food.

• Have you checked out Gee Creek Farm’s value-added products? In addition to their produce, locally grown beans and grains, they offer a delicious selection of breads and pastries, as well as salsas, pestos, sauces, and falafel mix.

• Every Wednesday is Tamale Day! Sara’s Mexican Tamales is now located in a red food truck at the end of market near 20th! You’ll be sure to find all of your favorite Mexican dishes: tamales, tacos, burritos, pozoles, and refreshing Agua Fresca!
