Sweet Corn, grown by Gee Creek Farm

It may be corny, but we are all ears at the People’s Farmers’ Market this week. We’re so excited that it’s the season for sweet corn—make sure to drop by and visit for this early fall favorite!

Not that you really need a recipe to enjoy sweet corn: eating it straight off the cobb with a bit of butter and salt is a perfectly respectable way to eat corn.

But if you’d like some variety, you could make this Sweet Corn Risotto, a delicious summer/early fall comfort food that can be made vegetarian or vegan, and is naturally gluten-free.

Sinclair’s Flowers (sharing a booth with Farmageddon) will be out this week, but plans to donate flowers this weekend to Chai and Roses, to support families fleeing Palestine.

Wednesdays are still Tamale Day! Sara’s Mexican Tamales is located in the shady part of the street, near SE 20th, with tamales, tacos, pozole, and delicious agua fresca.

• Revolution of the Heart Farm, a Black, Latine, Queer-owned farm in Northeast Portland, is back again this week, with more tomatoes and summer produce!

• Blind Coffee Roasters offers a selection of locally roasted, ethically-sourced, and direct-traded coffee beans.

• Sister Products is at market with delicious, handcrafted sourdough breads, foccacias, and cinnamon rolls— yum!
