It’s a great time to give peas a chance at People’s Farmers’ Market. While it’s hard not to eat snap peas directly from the vine or fresh from the pint, you can still get creative.

Try making this Whirled Peas Dip. Buzz together the following ingredients in the blender or food processor:

• Fresh peas

• One clove of garlic

• Vegan or dairy goat cheese

• Vegan or dairy parmesan

• Lemon or lime

• Herbs, such as tarragon, basil or mint

• Sea salt to taste

• Pepper to taste

Spread this whirled peas dip on crostini, bread, or crackers for a delicious spring nibble. Add a fresh viola, pansy, or borage blossom to the top for an extra special touch.

• Maruti is at market this week! Visit for delicious vegan and vegetarian Indian food, made from organic local ingredients. Tikka Masala, Chana Masala, Palak Paneer, and savory samosas!

• Looking for some tasty vegan treats? Crazy Cat’s Creations! Crazy Cats is a cottage food mini bakery dedicated to crafting indulgent, homemade treats using simple, wholesome ingredients—free from traditional animal-based products

• Welcome to our new vendor Care Rituals. Make sure to try their vegan fudge and mocha fudge, and ask about their luxurious herbal tea blends!

• Good Friend is here with gluten-free, dairy-free, organic superseed breads, baking mixes and cookies!

• Blueberry Ridge Farm is at market! Based in Sherwood, Blueberry Ridge offers certified organic frozen and dehydrated blueberries, blueberry candies, as well as a selection of blueberry pies made with organic ingredients.

• Looking for a fancy meal that’s quick to make? Foglia is here with handcrafted, brightly colored, locally made fresh pastas, raviolis and sauces, made with all-natural ingredients.
