It’s spring, and it’s thyme for the market! At People’s, we know that every week is market thyme; as Portland’s longest-running farmers’ market, we’re here 50-52 weeks out of the year.

Still, we all love the fresh air of spring and green of bright spring produce.

This week, check out fresh herbs, scallions, and tender spring onions. Try this vegan recipe for savory Scallions and Thyme Pancakes— optionally seasoned with Berebere spice. Or these Roasted Spring Onions. Nettles have a few more weeks to go— so don’t miss this early spring delicacy.

Make sure to drop by the People’s Farmers’ Market this Wednesday for your seasonal produce and a boost of community!

Vendor & Community Updates

• Not Bread is back at market this week, with gluten-free, dairy-free seed loaves handcrafted with organic oats, seeds, honey, olive oil and sea salt. Not Bread will be a guest vendor throughout the spring season.

• Welcome back Maruti Indian Restaurant. Maruti will be a returning guest vendor this spring, with vegetarian and vegan Indian dishes, sourced with local ingredients and prepared with love. Make sure to visit for a taste of their Tikka and Chana Masala, and delicious samosas!

• Visit Gales Meadow Farm for a selection of heirloom vegetable and herb starts for your garden.

• Make sure to visit Blind Coffee Roasters for a selection of rare and hard-to-find, ethically sourced, coffee beans— all locally roasted.

• Sara’s Mexican Tamales is here with tamales, tacos, and pozole— drop by for lunch or dinner. Sara’s will be in the courtyard from around 1pm-6pm: every market day is tamale day!
