It’s the season for rocket, “roquette” or arugula— a bright peppery green filled with nutrients. Rocket is the magical all-purpose leafy green. Add it to pizzas, pastas, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and more! Arugula can be sauteed with garlic and soy sauce and added to a scramble, and it can be chopped fine into a pesto with cheese or garlic and olive oil— for a tasty spread.

Make sure to drop by People’s Farmers’ Market for an abundance of summer produce and a good boost of community!

• Welcome to market Sun Moon Fields, a Gresham-based farm that emphasizes vegetables grown in Mexico and Central America.

• Make sure to visit Cokiea’s Kitchen this week, for Vegan Food for the Soul, prepared with local and organic, plant-based foods. Yum!

• Looking for some tasty vegan treats? Crazy Cat’s Creations! Crazy Cats is a cottage food mini bakery dedicated to crafting indulgent, homemade treats using simple, wholesome ingredients—free from traditional animal-based products.

• Every Wednesday is Tamale Day! Sara’s Mexican Tamales is now located in a red food truck at the end of market near 20th! You’ll be sure to find all of your favorite Mexican dishes: tamales, tacos, burritos, pozoles, and refreshing Agua Fresca!

• Blueberry Ridge Farm is at market! Based in Sherwood, Blueberry Ridge offers certified organic frozen and dehydrated blueberries, blueberry candies, as well as a selection of blueberry pies made with organic ingredients.

• Looking for a fancy meal that’s quick to make? Foglia is here with handcrafted, brightly colored, locally made fresh pastas, raviolis and sauces, made with all-natural ingredients.
