The Community Room at People’s is an open space for gathering, sharing, community engagement, activism, and learning.

People’s sponsors events, discussions, and classes in the community room that are open to all and often free of charge. We also welcome those in our community who wish to host their own classes or events in the community room.

We are committed to making our classes accessible to folks of all income levels and financial situations while ensuring that our instructors get compensated fairly for their time, effort, expertise, and materials. If a class with a cost is interesting or useful to you but you can’t swing the fee, please be in touch with us and we’ll work something out. The community room is available to rent for at an affordable rate of $15/hr for Member-Owners and $30/hr for the general public. To reserve the community room, please read our rental information to make sure our space will fit your needs.

Please submit your rental requests at least 1 month out from your event and allow two weeks for the Community Room Coordinator to review and respond to your request. We prioritize scheduling events for the current and upcoming seasons. If your event is more than 3 months away, we may not respond until closer to the event. Due to the high volume of requests we receive, we apologize if we are unable to respond to your request in a timely way. If you have questions, call the co-op at (503) 232-9051.
