Queer & Trans Care Night

Please join us for the first (but hopefully not only!) community care night for queer &/or trans people at People’s Food Co-op.

There will be healing practitioners offering services for free including: energy work, acupuncture, and others to be determined. Look out for updates on this event page. Craft tables, craft supplies, comfortable seats, and space for socializing will be available. We will also have a popup free pantry and zine library - get in touch if you have things to share!

Vegan & gluten free snacks & drinks provided!

Folks of all ages are welcome and childcare will be offered.

Queer & trans people of color, chronically ill and disabled folks, and youth are specifically welcome to attend!

This event is open to queer &/or trans people. This space is not for cisgender & straight folks, but if you are cis & straight and want to help by donating services, supplies or foods, get in touch by emailing sofie@peoples.coop.

We are also hoping to grow this event in the future. Please be in contact if you would like to help.

Accessibility Info

Community room accessible by stairs or a wheelchair lift. Please ask a staff person when you arrive for access to the lift.

We are striving towards a no-scent space. Please don’t arrive wearing scents; it makes this space difficult or impossible to be in for folks with chemical sensitivities and other chronic illnesses. If you have questions or if you have an access need that isn’t addressed here, email tyler@peoples.coop!

Safe Space Aggreements

Help us create an affirming and supportive space at People’s by observing our safe space agreements:

Oppressive language and behavior will not be tolerated in this space. This includes racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, fat shaming and others.

Do not touch people without asking them first. Do not assume a person’s gender or pronouns without asking them first. If you are unsure about boundaries, always ask.

If someone crosses your boundaries, we want to know! The organizers of this event are available to check in with if someone is not respecting these safer space agreements & will be prepared to respond. Organizers will be wearing name tags and are queer and trans members of the Collective at People’s.

Anyone who compromises the safety of folks in this space by not honoring the above agreements may be asked to leave and not return to future events at People’s.

This is a sober space. Please do not consume drugs and alcohol.

Smoking cigarettes can happen on the sidewalk 10 feet away from doors and windows!
