People Move: A self-organizing movement studio

MOVING PEOPLE

An idea for a mostly weekly Monday Member Owner evening at People’s Coop.

People have bodies. People have ideas.

People Move.

THE IDEA

People Move: A self-organizing movement studio from 4-8pm most every Monday starting March 4th, 2019

Facilitated by The Curiosity Paradox

The Curiosity Paradox and People’s Coop offer a weekly self-organizing open movement space for People’s Coop Member Owners.

Using principles of community organizing, each evening will begin with an access check-in to determine what each person needs to fully participate. Members can bring their own ideas for the day’s agenda. The Curiosity Paradox will bring suggested structures and experiments in performing community. The breadth and depth of movement practices will depend on the people present.

As this is an open studio, members can come and go as needed.

Some things to know:

  1. IT’S 4 HOURS—you can drop by anytime. Come for a quick break or stay for the whole time.

  2. IT’S (a place for) COMFORTABLE CLOTHING—maybe bring some other outfits to wear. We won’t say no to a good wig.

  3. IT’S YOURS—No performance experience necessary. If you’re a member owner, this a welcome space and place to be

The Curiosity Paradox is a creative consultancy and transmedia performance opportunity born from the collaboration of Grant Miller and Jonathan PARADOX Lee. Grant and Jonathan are performers, facilitators, creators, and movers.
