Forging More Conscious Authentic Relationships

Western culture is riddled with unhelpful relational norms that have resulted in increasing rates of failed marriages, highly dysfunctional power dynamics, ineffective communication, repression, oppression, depression, and desperation. This lecture explores a variety of ways to become more conscious of ourselves, of how we perceive others, and of how we approach relationships. It explores how we can lay a conscious foundation for forging relationships that support our authentic expression, and includes a brief overview of Relationship Anarchy philosophy, a new model of consciously approaching our relationships in a way that is less defined by expectations, assumptions, rules, and obligations.

Relationship Anarchy is a philosophy and practice grounded in respect for autonomy, authentic co-willing, voluntary engagement, and anti-authoritarianism. It calls into question the conventional social norms, beliefs, and customs around relationships (including the notions of ownership, scarcity, and entitlement), allowing for conscious alignment of intentions with those we choose to relate to. RA transcends polyamory and romantic/sexual relationships, in general, to include ALL of our interpersonal relationships.

Phoenyx is a free-spirited, psychonautical futurist, writer, artist, educator, consultant, coach, and philosopher, passionately inspired by individual empowerment, harmonious interpersonal dynamics, community-building, authentic relating, voluntaryism, and tech-forward ecological regeneration. She has been practicing, writing about, and speaking about Relationship Anarchy for 3 and a half years, and is currently starting a podcast and authoring a book and a series of zines on the topic.
