Social Permaculture Tools: Exploring Everyday Power and Privilege through Theater Games

Join community through theater exercises (no experience necessary!) to explore and "unpack" the ways systemic and internalized oppressions guide our actions, in order to gain more creativity and resourcefulness for resilient, safer communities and relationships!

Theater of the Oppressed is a world-renowned body of work which offers profound Social Permaculture tools, and guides these workshops. The outcome of this work is more self-aware, compassionate, active individuals, and a more resourced local community!

About the Facilitator

Sarabell, a somatic educator, mediator, and People’s Co-Manager, who works with folks of all ages on the (trauma-aware) edges of comfort and growth, stretching into new practices of embodiment and communication. Sarabell has trained and facilitated throughout Cascadia in Theater of the Oppressed techniques for 10 years and is grateful to share these simple, powerful tools with People's Co-op community!

People's Food Coop is committed to making our classes accessible to folks of all income levels and financial situations, while ensuring that our instructors are compensated fairly for their time, effort, expertise, and materials. If this class is interesting or useful to you but you can't swing the fee, please be in touch with us and we'll work something out. You can email communityroom@peoples.coop for scholarship inquiries.

The Community Room is located on the 2nd floor up a flight of stairs. It is also accessible by elevator lift--just let a staff member know you need to use it and they will help you!
